When Tuesday Feels like Monday

Hey there and Happy Tuesday! Always fantastic when Tuesday is the start of the work week, yeah?

Rewind to the rest of the extended weekend….

Sunday (cont).

After popping in on Sunday, Ken got home from his group ride and I set out for a long run. Wasn’t really sure how long it was going to be, but I was hoping to get in over 15. I was doing a point to point run (Ken and Brooke picked me up) to try to get used to some net downhill. Hello, quads. It was rough (and I can barely go downstairs today-should be great for the downhill course on Sunday (and add 10 miles). Death.

Decent pace with some climbs in there. Next weekend should be a bit slower. So I dont die.

Monday

Ken set off for his 2.5 hour ride at about 8 am. We had afternoon storms in the forecast, so we knew we had to get workouts in early. Brooke and I hung out at home and worked on prepping a coat rack! Loved my shelves so much that I just cant stop 😉

Once Ken was home, I was off for a 30 mile ride dodging storms. I managed to miss all the lightning and just had about 5 minutes of light drizzle! There was a huge hail storm about an hour after I got home. Timing!

In the late afternoon, we took a family quad ride up the road so the dog could run. Saw some deer and elk and Jasper was in Heaven!

This morning I was planning on an easy run, but my legs are still feeling the weekend so I opted to work around the house today and then went for a 2 mile walk with Brooke and Jasper.

Said Hi to the cows before getting the mail 🙂

IMG_4913

They are building a shop just down from us.

IMG_4915

Someone was happy about the walk.

She wants me to cut her hair. Wahhhhhh.

Those shoes. That shadow.

IMG_4921

Naturing.

IMG_4922

Think it is raining over there?

Going to get a couple more things done around the house before getting dinner ready and taking the dog in the shower. Not sure what he rolled in…but YUCK.

Sunday Delights.

Happy Sunday! I hope that you are enjoying a wonderful weekend with the wonderful people in your life. We are enjoying some sunshine for the first time in a while (or it least it seems that way!).

Some quick highlights from the last few days!

Friday:

Since we had to run into town for a few errands, Brooke requested taking her bike to the bike path. She killed it with a 2 mile ride (only one break) and I got a nice little jog along side her!

She takes cycling very seriously.

IMG_2010

She also wanted to try out her fishing pole. There wasn’t a hook on it and she couldn’t figure out why she wasn’t catching anything 😉

IMG_2011

Ken got off work a bit early, so after he rode home I got to go out on my bike! I got in just over an hour with some crazy wind on the way home.

Prepped this guy. Yes please.

IMG_2003

And paired it with this greatness that a very nice person sent me 😉

IMG_2004

Kombucha con alcohol. Does it get any better? The flavor was a little different, but the overall effect was perfect 🙂

IMG_2006

Yesterday we woke up to rain (that lasted all day). Ken was supposed to ride with a group, but that got canceled due to the crazy weather (hello, hail).

IMG_4907

This made me feel like we live in Jurassic Park.

IMG_4908

I feel ya, bro.

IMG_4909

Instead of playing outside, we got to work on more projecting. Replaced all of the screens in our house!

IMG_2014

Finally finished my shelves and put them on the walls! Time to decorate now!!

Got out for an easy and mega muddy 3 mile jog. I was gross after those 3 miles.

This morning we went to church and I was supposed to do my “long” run on the way home, but Ken found out that his group ride got rescheduled and they were just happening to come up in our direction, so he is out riding and I will run when he gets home. 🙂 Marriage is workout compromise, right? 😉

Hope you have an amazing rest of your Memorial Day weekend. Thank you to all of you who have served!!

Ballet-Free Thursday

Tomorrow is Friday. Before a three day weekend. Just going to leave that right here.

Flashback to yesterday for a sec. Wednesday-our Golden Day. Our day without rain (ha, we had the craziest storm pop up around 8 pm. Close though.). Since we knew it was going to be our nicest day, we had plans to meet friends at the lake. Unfortunately, one of them was sick so we have postponed until next week. Instead, we headed into town for some errand running.

Dropped some things off to Ken (who had ridden to work and had little space for heavy things), went to the grocery, stopped in to ACE, dropped off a sink and faucet at a granite place and then swung by the Feed Store to check out the chicks (they didnt have any ducklings. Maybe June.).

We did see this little guy on our way to town (and then again on our ride later!).

Once we were home and had put some much needed food in our bellies…Brooke so nicely agreed to go for a ride with me! We got in about 15 miles in a bit of wind, but 68 degrees! Felt so good!! Some neighbors cheered for us as we headed uphill into the wind in freshly grated road dirt. Hello, watts!

IMG_1992

Literally spent the rest of the day playing outside and mowing the yard. Like 3+ hours of mowing. And Ken had to finish making dinner when he got home because I was still mowing. Sorry about that, buddy 😉

Ended the night with the hot tub. No regrets. 😉

This morning started out a bit earlier than usual (which I hope becomes more usual than unusual). I was up at 5:45 (BTW: it is light then. Yes.) for a run. We had rain and T-storms in the forecast all day (Note: the only rain that we have had was during my run and then right after) so I wanted to get out before the day turned to yuck.

Got in a quick (ish) 5 miles and was home before 6:45. (Ken was going to ride in to work, but the weather was pretty crummy at that point-so he may ride home).

If you want to practice running the opposite of negative splits (said no one ever), come run with me. Total Pro. I blame the elevation changes. And lack of fitness.

Always good to warm up with your fastest mile. Face palm.

It was fantastic to wake up and get my workout done, but I must admit that it is 2:33 pm and I could go for a nap. Or a coffee.

This popped up on my Facebook today. Makes me want to hike. Bring on summer.

IMG_1993

Finally got everything I needed to start brewing my own Kombucha!!! That’s my cute little Scoby in there. He is pretty much one of the family now.

IMG_1997

IMG_1998

I take Kombucha very seriously. Grow little Scoby, grow!!! He is acclimating to his new environment before we start the full brew process.

So much for the craptastic weather ALL day. Though it could start pouring at any given moment….and I did enjoy the strollerless run 🙂

IMG_1999

Please note: Random patch of long grass was INSIDE her playhouse. Then the wind somersaulted it last night. Better get the mower out again.

Told you. Very serious about my Kombucha. Very. And that cute face behind it.

IMG_2001

Time for an afternoon of laundry folding (Note: I dont mind folding laundry, but I dont love putting it away. Or putting the sheets back on the bed. Maybe I should just climb back INTO bed) and prepping for new classes. Come on weekend!!
